 Mindsteward Kids Theater:
The Complete Theater Experience

an educational theater arts experience like no other

Here at Mindsteward Kids Theater, we believe that theater education should be an all encompassing experience. This is why our two week summer camp offers personalized schedules for each camper, intertwines an internship program, and allows children to collaborate on a 30 minute musical theater production. We teach all the bells and whistles that come along with theater productions, including robotics and backstage crew, and set design through visual art. Each camper gets to choose from one of our four majors: On-stage theater, backstage theater, robotics, and visual arts. We also offer a wide variety of electives including but not limited to candy-making, baseball, gymnastics, visual art, dance, instrumental music and improv. Campers can each choose three electives. Read more about our camp below.

Why the arts?

Art and music connect both hemispheres of the brain, assisting children's learning needs and supporting information retention. People can learn any subject on a deeper level when taught within the context of the arts.  Our bodies create new synapses between the two hemispheres when we play an instrument or sing a song.

We offer four different majors at camp,  each one highlighting a different facet of putting on a musical theater production.

Campers who choose robotics learn to invent, create, program, and live-control their creations during the shows using technology such as camera and voice-overs to bring their robots to life onstage.

Campers pursuing onstage theater as a major get a chance to sing, dance, and act while being a part of a living breathing story.

Campers pursuing backstage theater as a major learn how to support and run the production from behind the scenes, building their organizational and technical skills in the process.

Campers pursuing visual arts as a major get to exercise their imaginations and bring the world of the show to life through crafts, painting, and set design.

About Our Internship Program

Attention all teens!

If you have a passion for the arts, sciences, or want to learn basic business/marketing skills, this is the program for you! Our Mindsteward internship program gives teens a chance to build their soft business and interpersonal skills in a collaborative and constructive environment. Interns will work together with the director and other educators to best assist campers' learning needs. Not only does this look great on a resume, it also enables teens to make friends and connections with peers who are just as passionate as they are about the arts.  We offer both paid and unpaid internships, depending on student's age and level of experience. Intern applications open March 1st.
