I have my B.A in English-Secondary Education from Grove City College and my M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction. I taught English, Advanced Composition, World Literature, American Literature, Creative Writing, and Modern Poetry over the last 18 years to grades 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, and 12 in South Carolina and Pennsylvania. Most of my teaching experience was in Cumberland Valley School District where I taught around 4,000 students! I designed the curriculum for English Language Arts, mentored teachers, led a team of teachers, designed an online program, and hosted student teachers in my classroom. Now, I’m currently taking a break from teaching to publish devotionals, inspirational nonfiction, and my blog Getting Creative With Carolyn. This is my first year with Mind Steward Summer Camp, and I’m excited to inspire a love for creative writing among the students! Nurturing creativity in children is one of our most important roles as mentors, educators, and parents.
